September Highlights

While I have absolutely LOVED the weather September is bringing, it’s been a tough month. I’m thrilled October is coming. THRILLED, I tell you.

So some of the “highlights” this month don’t totally sound like highlights, but for this September, they are.

Here we go!

blackstone.

My poor husband had a rough birthday. We both tested positive for COVID two days before his birthday weekend, and his gift arrived two weeks late. He got a Blackstone griddle and once it arrived, he put it to good use almost immediately. Friends, everything that comes off that thing is SO. GOOD. Honestly, it’s changed the game. Not even my gift, but I do reap the benefits of excellent food.

jiu jitsu seminar.

For those of you who might not know, Elliot is big into jiu jitsu, and this month, his gym held a free women’s seminar. I got to spend a fun afternoon learning some practical self defense techniques, and won a Wawa gift card in a raffle! It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be, and if I didn’t currently have a full workload with school, I’d be trying to figure out a way to fit it in my schedule.

phillies game.

I sometimes get discount tickets to Phillies games through the organization I work for, and at the last minute, I got tickets to our family night for all the Phillies fans in my family. It ended up being the most perfect evening for a ball game, and one of the best games I’ve ever seen. In true Philly fashion, nothing happened until the eighth inning, where we scored a ton of runs and a fight broke out on the field! And we won.

new nanny.

Early in September, our nanny informed us that she was retiring, so I went on a search for a new one. It was a rough start, with very few prospects and I was very worried. Earlier this week, we hired a lovely new nanny. I am so excited for her to start and feel so relieved that I’m no longer searching. Yay!

home projects.

We’ve gotten a couple home projects done this month that I had been putting off. I chalk painted a couple kid’s chairs for Will and waxed them, just so he can promptly try to stand on them. We got our garden trimmed down and some other things tidied up and it feels so good that my “summer” projects are all wrapped up!
