September Highlights

If anyone was wondering what my time to shine is, it's right now.
Tomorrow is October 1st, the weather is cool and crisp, and Pumpkin Spice coffee is officially out for general consumption.
I am a happy camper. This is my best life.
Although October is my hands-down, all-time favorite month of the year and nothing can ever top it, September was pretty swell, as well.
See what I did there? I even rhymed. I wasn't kidding when I said it was my time to shine.
I did have to narrow down all the things from this month, so bear with me and all the random stuff that I find worthy of a blog post.
P.S. - Honestly, one major highlight of this month was that I learned a new joke, and it is HILARIOUS. It is my new favorite thing and I'm so happy I finally have a joke handy the next time someone says, "Anyone know a good joke??" because now I do.
But, I can't tell you here, because this is a blog, and blogs do not deliver punch lines like humans do. It's just not the same.
Catch me in real life and I will be more than happy to drop everything and tell you my joke.
Please do this. I love telling it.
Oh my goodness, friends. You all know that I'm a big fan of Half Baked Harvest. But this bread. It's just SO GOOD. This is my first time making bread, ever, so I was a little nervous, but this was relatively simple (for making bread from scratch), and it turned out so well, I've decided it's a staple in our house. I made it with a vegetable soup, but since I love soup, I’m probably going to make it pretty often to dip for these chilly months we’re entering. Here's my final product.
New TV Rules.
I was inspired by Keri's new "no TV during the week" rule, so I decided to give it a try for the month of September. I was getting stuck in the rut of spending way too much time deciding what to watch almost every evening, just to watch one too many episodes and then go to bed later than I'd like. For the last month, I've only watched TV Friday nights, Saturday or Sunday, and honestly, usually we're busy, so we watch TV once a week, on average. During the week, I like to read, or write the blog, or catch up on some other things I want to get done. I've gotten in bed early almost every night and I'm much more productive. I really enjoy the way I spend my time now, and I think I'll keep it up.
I finished it. After almost two months, I finished the dang book.....and it was good. I truly did enjoy it, and I'm looking forward to reading the next one. It is very "Lord of the Rings-y", but I'll be honest, I couldn't get through the third chapter of The Hobbit, and I finished this one. So in my humble opinion, it's better. They're also releasing a show adaptation on Amazon Prime this November, so keep an eye out! I'll be watching it. On the weekends, of course.
Fall Fashion.
Ugh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE fall styles. I've been rocking a sweater almost every day this week and it is bliss. It's so nice having a job where I can wear cute outfits, so now I get to share with you my favorite pieces! My favorite sweater is actually from Costco, for like $12. If you're a Costco member, I highly recommend heading there now before they're all out! My favorite outfits have been looser sweaters paired with skinny jeans (I'm a millennial, don't judge me) and a fun pair of flats. My favorites are these gorgeous TOMS flats. I also have a pair in leopard print, which are SO cute.
Amazon Associates.
This is kinda silly, but I just have to share this little milestone with you guys. You all know that I share some of my favorite things here on the blog, and that I am an Amazon Associate, which means I receive a small commission if a purchase is made using my links. Anyway, I don’t make much on it, but after a year or more (can’t remember exactly), I finally earned enough to receive a tiny little paycheck. It is super tiny, but it's nice that I earned a small sum for doing what I love.
Thank you for your support and for using my links! I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you!
