5 Fun Dates Before Summer Is Over

I don't know where this weather came from, but it is a GIFT. Praise Jesus, hallelujah, for 70 degree weather.

It's a gift, but also a huge tease, because I know we have over a month left of summer until those lower temps are here for good, and ya girl comes to LIFE.

However, I'm going to do my best to enjoy the rest of the warm days we have left, and what better way to do that than to enjoy a few dates with the hubs?

He is my bestie, after all, and we like hanging out together.

Even after a whole pandemic together?

Yes. I know, it's wild.

Anyway, I asked him what his favorite summer dates are, and together, we came up with this little list of fun dates to bring some joy and fun to the last few warm days of summer. Enjoy!

Bar/Grille with outdoor seating and games/activities.

We both agree that this is probably our favorite thing to do. We usually head to places that have corn hole or other yard games, like the Crooked Hammock or Constitution Yards. Even if you don't partake in an adult beverage, it's fun to hang out, play some games, eat some good food and enjoy some quality time together.

Hiking.

This is definitely a very close second. We're obsessed with our dogs, Ellie and Mollie, and we like to take them with us as often as we can. They're the best girls, and you can read some funny stories about them here, here and here. They love to go hiking, and conveniently, so do we! Sometimes even just taking a walk is an opportunity for some much needed time to talk and move.

Rita's.

Just an FYI, I will NEVER say no to Rita's. Sometimes, I love a little impromptu date to Rita's after dinner or anytime, really. Just a few minutes to sit outside and enjoy a cold treat is what the soul needs.

Mini Golf.

Do I really need to go on? It's fun, it's competitive, and anyone can do it. If you haven't been yet this summer, what are you doing? GO.

Fire Pit.

Last, and certainly not least, is one of my favorites. Sometimes, Elliot will surprise me with a little fire pit evening and it's so nice to just sit outside by a fire and hang out. Sometimes we play games, other times we roast marshmallows. You can't go wrong with a simple evening at home, sitting around a fire in the backyard.
