May Highlights

May just flew by.

I cannot believe it.

It’s going to be June in less than a week. WHAT. Summer is like, RIGHT THERE. I can smell it.

Had to make it weird, didn’t I? Moving on.

May flew by for a few reasons, but I think the weather and the gradual talk of slowly opening things up again has given me some new hope, motivation, and a fresh start.

Here are my highlights from May!

First Anniversary!

If you haven’t read The Truth About The First Year Of Marriage yet, Elliot and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on May 18, and we celebrated all weekend long! We had takeout from our favorite restaurant, 1861, where we had our first date AND our rehearsal dinner. We grilled some incredible steaks the following night, had a game night, and talked about our wedding all weekend long. It was lovely.

Wedding Photos.

In true Rebekah fashion, it took a FULL YEAR to decide on what type of wall decor we wanted our wedding photos on, and where. I ordered these beautiful custom signs from Smallwoods, and we are OBSESSED with them.

Fence is COMPLETE.

Last week, our replacement gate came in and our fence is officially DONE. We can now exit the backyard without going through the house, and the girls love having a place to run around and play (although they would still much rather be attached to my hip, but that is unfortunately not an option). We are so happy to have our backyard projects finished before summer starts so we can enjoy all the outdoor activities!

Back On Track For Fitness.

I think everyone kind of fell off the wagon a little bit with the whole “stay-at-home-and-wear-sweats” order. I can honestly say I ate more ice cream and pizza in March and April than I’d like to admit, but hey, that’s life, and I don’t regret it. But I started working out regularly and cleaned up my diet a little bit, and already I’m feeling SO much better.

New Favorite Shoes.

Okay, so I ordered these knockoff Birkenstocks from Amazon, and let me tell you, they have changed. my. life. SO COMFY. Also, super cute, and they’re $25. FOR REAL. I’m obsessed, and I’m trying to talk Elliot into letting me get a pair in every color, because, well, I need them. Obviously. You probably need them too.

Baking.

I made another cake! Ellie and Mollie spoiled me for Mother’s Day, and got me these fancy new cake pans so I can make beautiful, tall cakes, and that just makes my heart explode a little bit. So I attempted this entirely new concept for Memorial Day, and it actually turned out really pretty! The cake is a Cherry Chip Cake, and it was really lovely.

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy June!!
