What I’ve Been Reading: Q2

2024 is just about halfway through. Years are weird. It doesn’t even remotely feel like we’ve been in 2024 long enough for the second quarter to come to an end. But, it has, and with that, comes the Q2 reading list!

This past quarter, reading has not always been a priority. I hit a bit of a slump for a few weeks and barely read at all. I’ve also read some incredible stories, listened to some fun ones and finished a series that was simultaneously heartbreaking and beautiful beyond words - I fell in love with it, I really did. 10/10 would recommend and will probably force everyone I know and love to read them. It’s Beartown, because of course it is.

One more thing - last year my sister started listening to audiobooks, specifically, Harry Potter. She has never been a reader, at all, but has always loved the movies, so thrilled is quite the understatement for how I felt when she finally experienced the books. They were a hit (duh) and now she is exploring the audiobook world. I am such a happy little reading camper.

With my sister’s raving review of the narrator for Harry Potter, I had to try it and she was right. The narrator is UNMATCHED. I’m now enjoying my reread of the series with audiobooks and it’s just so fun.

Q2 READING LIST

Last quarter I asked about a “top picks” and there was a yes. I’m still workshopping the name.

top picks

Beartown - obviously. But, they are, in my opinion, winter books. So buckle up, come November.

Britt-Marie Was Here - it’s got a similar vibe as A Man Called Ove, and equally sweet and quirky
