Happy Halloween, friends!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, whether or not you’re dressing up and going trick-or-treating, or going with a kid you love. Halloween is a fun, silly, free candy day, and I hope you all enjoy a safe and happy holiday.
I’ll keep this one short and sweet, as everyone is busy, but I do love when the highlights post falls on the very last day of the month. It just feels right.
new front door.
I know I’ve been talking about it for what seems like months, but it really has been a long time coming. We officially have a new front door installed and it is the best. You don’t really think about your front door much, until you have to help every single person who comes in to open and close it, and that’s what we have been doing for the last year and a half. We now have a beautiful front door with a pretty decorative window and it opens and closes like a dream.
first fire.
It got CHILLY this month! I love the cooler weather so much, and it even got cold enough for us to build our first few fires in our wood stove. It really makes the coziest evenings.
first class of masters - done.
In mid-October, I finished my first class toward my masters. It’s been a fun (rough) journey of getting back in the swing of school after almost ten years. I think I’m finally getting used to the new work/life/school balance, and that feels good. I’m into my second class, and praying I get through this one as well as the first.
birthday.
As previously mentioned, my birthday was this month! I had the most perfect fall week for my birthday, sunny and cool. I got my hair done and had a little birthday lunch date with Elliot. We spent time at Fifer’s for some fall activities - no apple picking, but we got to ride on the wagon, which Will loved. I’m already looking forward to next year’s trip! 31 is looking lovely so far.
face scrubber.
Okay, this thing has changed my face. Seriously.
A couple months ago, I noticed that my face was getting a bumpy texture - not acne, just bumpy, dry skin, and it was driving me nuts. I saw a friend use a silicone face scrubber on Instagram, and found that hers was almost $300! There was no way I was paying that much, but it really seemed to smooth the texture of her skin and made it brighter and healthier, so I found this Amazon dupe for less than $40. Let me tell you, I use it every day, if not twice a day. Even if I wash my face in the shower, I’ll use it afterward, and the amount of gunk it pulls off my face is insane. 10/10 would recommend. I love this thing.
I’m a strong believer in fresh air, prayer and a good cup of coffee. Let’s be friends!
