April Highlights

April has been a very big and very busy month. I’ve got some pretty exciting things going on and I cannot wait to share all the deets with you (hint, hint - most likely next week on the blog). While I’m so incredibly happy about all the things, I’m very much looking forward to May and for things to slow down just a tad.

update on will.

OBVIOUSLY, we need a baby update. Will is growing way to heckin fast. He’s almost 5 months old and I can’t believe it. The boy still loves to eat - he has oatmeal every day and has tried both sweet potatoes and applesauce so far. He can roll over from front to back, giggle and LOVES to eat his hands. We barely fit in our 3 month clothes, and I’m sobbing just a little bit.

cross building.

Years ago, my dad did a special service for Easter, where he takes the role of the Roman cross builder and literally tells the story of Jesus while building a life-size cross. It is so impactful and really touching. For a while he did it every year on Maundy Thursday, usually at different churches. It is one of my favorite Easter services and it’s always impactful, no matter how many times I’ve seen it. This year, he did it again, after several years off. He invited me to lead worship with him before the service and it was so cool to be included in such a special service.

new greek place.

Middletown just got a new Greek takeout restaurant and I am OBSESSED. Honestly, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked for Greek for dinner this month. It’s SO GOOD. It’s called Delaware Chicken and Gyro and you have to try it.

tubby todd.

A few months ago, my friend introduced me to the Tubby Todd brand of bath products for Will. They were a little on the pricey side, but she swore by them and how her baby’s skin was so soft and healthy. I figured I would try it and I’m so glad I did. I got the shampoo + body wash, lotion and all over ointment. The ointment is a dream. It goes on so smoothly, absorbs well and soothes any skin issue Will has had - acne, dry spots, rashes, all of it. He smells so good after bath time - we just love it.

fish video.

Okay, so let’s be clear, Will doesn’t watch TV. Heck, we barely watch TV. However, I found a YouTube video called Finding Nemo - Coral Reef Music + Ambience and Will LOVES it. It’s just footage of fish on a coral reef with the Finding Nemo soundtrack, so it’s not super stimulating, but he loves to watch the fish. When he’s super fussy, I use this video to distract him and he calms down almost right away. It’s honestly so relaxing, I started using it as background music when I’m working or writing.

That’s all folks! See you in May!!
