HOW exactly is it the end of September? HOW.

All I know is two weeks ago it was hot for the last time and it’s kind of been magical ever since.

Confession: I’ve low-key been waiting for the heat to come back with a vengeance because I know it’s coming. Like, there is no way it’s ACTUALLY going to be this nice, this early, and stay that way. Just. Not. Possible.

But, if it wants to keep this up for good, I’m okay with it.

Anyway, we’re here for the September Highlights, and here we go!

Great Awakening Band Show.

Two weeks ago, my band had it’s first show since December! We had planned to have several shows this past spring, but, ‘Rona. So we had a bunch of new songs and we played an outdoor show on a GORGEOUS September afternoon, and it just felt so good to play again. Hopefully we’re able to have several more outdoor shows because the weather is beautiful and why not?

New Recipes.

It’s time to break out my trusty Instant Pot, and I figured I would try some new, healthy recipes. I’m telling you, I get in a groove of the same four meals, and don’t deviate. I have to intentionally find new recipes to try, and *knock on wood* I haven’t had a bad Instant Pot recipe yet. Last week, I tried two brand new recipes and they did not disappoint!

  • Harvest Chicken Skillet. I call it a Harvest Bowl, because it literally tastes like autumn in a bowl. It’s so healthy and yummy and I’m a sucker for any meal that comes in a bowl.

  • Chicken Tortilla Soup. This recipe is super healthy, super quick and easy, and super delicious! I crushed up some tortilla chips and sprinkled them on top for add a bit of crunch!

Daisy Jones and The Six.

This book has been on my list for several months, and finally, it was my turn to borrow it! It’s written like an oral history, which was different and took a minute to get used to, but after the first few pages, I couldn’t put it down! I really enjoyed this book, and it’s been a while since I enjoyed an ending as much as this one. It was a tragic and beautiful story, and you should read it. You can find it here.

Notion.

Okay, I have to give credit where credit is due, and Elliot told me about this cool app called Notion several months ago. It was new, so I avoided it, but I just gave it a shot this past week and holy cow!! This organization on organization! Its basically a notes app on steroids, and it comes with templates, and lists, and charts, so you can literally organize every aspect of your life, however you like, from ONE APP. Guys, my mind is blown. I know I just started using it, like, yesterday, but I have a recipes list, a to-do list (obviously), an entire content calendar for the blog, as well as a whole section just for my branding and graphics. I’m so happy and all I wanna do is pour every little detail into its proper place. Check it out here!

Acadia Trip.

Although it’s happening this upcoming weekend, I’m SO excited to have a weekend away to just rest and relax and hike some mountains and see some beautiful views. Stay tuned on social for some photos - granted I remember to post them! It’s our first road trip as a little family, and I really can’t wait to spend some time with my favorite people - and pups!
