A Few Of My Favorite Things: March Edition

What. A. Month.

Am I right?

Just 31 short days ago, life looked completely different. Although it seems this past month was a whirlwind of stress and uncertainty, I have to admit that I have also experienced some incredible blessings.

Vacation!

Early in March, my family and I took a loaded vacation to Florida and Aruba to celebrate not one, but TWO major life events. My sister graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Capella University, and we celebrated in Orlando at Disney and Universal Studios. You can read more about her incredible ceremony in A Rainbow in the Clouds. After that, we headed down to Aruba to my cousin’s marriage to the love of his life. It was a beautiful ceremony on the beach in paradise.

Here are some photos from our trip!

Home Improvement Projects.

Since basically all of April is canceled, we decided to use this time to knock out some projects we’ve been wanting to complete for summer. We are putting in a fence for our girls…. ok ok it’s actually for me so I can have some peace and quiet once in a while. We are also putting a dog door in our porch so that they can have access to the porch while they’re enjoying their yard. We starting putting the plans in action and are very excited to begin in April!

Sarah Moved!

My sister bought a house exactly 2 miles from my house, and now we are neighbors and it is just lovely having her so close!! Her new house is just adorable and I am so happy for her and Cody!

Piano.

Some of you know that my piano teacher passed away in September. I was gifted her digital upright piano and it is amazing. Since I moved from my parents’ house, I haven’t had a full keyboard to practice with. I was hoping to one day purchase a decent 88-key keyboard to play at home, but this is better than I even dreamed. It sounds beautiful and feels so real. I’m obsessed with it and I’ve played it almost every day since I got it.

Turkey Day.

GUYS. We did a rotisserie turkey!! And it was a game changer. For real. If you want the deets on why in the world I did a rotisserie turkey in March (and the recipe), check out last week’s post, Recipes I Actually Want To Try . It was a very big deal for me and I am still so hype about it. I may or may not have decided that Turkey Day is every March, whether you like it or not, so there’s that.

Like I said, ya girl was STOKED.

That wraps up March, friends, and I have hope that April is going to be a great month as well. Even though we’re in the middle of a mess here, we can take this challenge and use it to strengthen ourselves and our relationships. So that’s what I’m focusing on for now. I hope you all are staying safe and healthy, and I’m praying that April brings us all hope, joy and peace.

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” 1 Peter 5:10

“Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.”  But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.  I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain.  I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.  I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.” Psalm 3:2-6
