I had high hopes for October, and it did not disappoint. Not one bit.

We kicked it off with our return from Maine, where we did lots of hiking and eating - two of my favorite things! It was absolutely wonderful to disconnect and enjoy the peace of the great outdoors.

I also celebrated my 27th birthday, and it seems like I'm almost old...

I got to do ALL the fall things, and my heart is so full.

Anyway, there's too much to tell so here we go!

Spooky Shows.

I do not watch scary movies. Period. I watched one scary movie when I was 12 and wanted to die a little bit. It was horrible. Ever since then, I have REFUSED to watch anything even remotely scary. This year, at the ripe old age of 27, I have decided to give it a shot. But we are easing into this very. slowly. I started The Haunting Of Hill House, and I'm actually enjoying it. There have been a few parts where the suspense is killing me, but I refuse to be a wimp about it and I will finish the series. Yay for the little victories!

Lively.

Okay, so I finally broke down and tried one of the startup bra companies. I measured myself, and I looked into several brands. I went with Lively, because it was most affordable option, and offered cute, supportive bras. I got 3 bras for $80, and I did an unboxing on my Instagram Story if you want to check that out. They're wireless, super supportive and so soft and comfy. 10/10 would recommend, and if you want to try them for yourself, click here for $10 off your first purchase!

Birthday!

For my birthday, my family made sure to spend the weekend doing the most fall things, and my heart was overjoyed. We went to Milburn Orchard and picked the most delicious apples on the most beautiful day of the month. I made apple pie with my grandmother and sister, and baked my new favorite cake! Here's the recipe if you want to try it! We had a movie night, drank hot apple cider, and my best friend surprised me for my birthday dinner with her adorable son (and my favorite little pumpkin), Benjamin! I was spoiled rotten with some wonderful gifts (hint: you may see them on a certain gift guide in the near future) and I couldn't be more blessed.

Willow Marie & Co.

This month, I snagged a few items from my favorite Delaware boutique. It's located down in Lewes, but they run a fantastic Facebook page and have the CUTEST things. I grabbed a beautiful and super soft sweater for our holiday photos (because I WILL have them this year, so help me), as well a really cute vest and top combo! Can't wait to If you're looking to support a local small business, and snag some adorable holiday outfits (or gifts!), check out their website here.

Books I Read.

I've been reading a lot this month, mostly because it's been cold and rainy, and therefore, perfect reading weather. I read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the prequel to the Hunger Games, and it was FANTASTIC. Especially if you love The Hunger Games, it's a real winner. Lots of good symbolism and foreshadowing, and all my favorite things. I also read Little Fires Everywhere, by Celeste Ng, and I couldn't put it down. I legit finished it in two days. I'm currently in the middle of reading Where Sun Meets Water, written by my very own neighbor! I can't believe that I've lived next to Kerry for two years and never knew she published a book, but when I found out, I immediately ordered it.

Halloween!

I know Halloween hasn't happened yet, and I know that it's not the same as before, but I'm still very excited for Halloween. As the only one in the fam-bam who lives in a neighborhood with a lot of kids, we like to gather and hand out candy together. I'm making a big pot of my favorite chili (first time in my Instant Pot!) and we're going to hang out and celebrate Halloween as best we can.

I don't really do "Halloween" decorations outside, but I did buy a strand of orange lights to put on the small tree in our front yard and I am LOVING it. They're really cool lights actually, and they actually twinkle! Like REAL TWINKLING. I'm buying them in every color for all holidays. It brings me cheer and lights up my front yard and I'm so so happy about them.

Here's the link for the ACTUAL twinkle lights, if you're interested. Because you are.

Anyway, there's my October, and I hope yours was wonderful as well. For the first time, I'm actually looking forward to November and all it has in store! It's still fall, but I'm excited to transition to Thanksgiving and holiday decor and bring as much cheer as I can.
