My Must-Haves For Transitioning To Summer

If you don’t live on the Mid-Atlantic part of the east coast, I’ll give you a quick little update on the weather this spring.
It cannot make up it’s mind.
In the last several weeks, we have had a week of rain, a week of heat, and several days of temperatures in the 40s sprinkled in between. We are on a wild ride over here.
That said, I’m not complaining, because I haven’t actually gotten around to any of my summer prep - pulling out all my summer clothes and packing away my winter things yet, figuring out neutral decor for my home that isn’t random toys, etc. Hopefully next weekend - fingers crossed. However, there have been a few things I’ve grabbed recently that are so helpful for this time of year when we’re floating around in between cold and warm weather. I’ll share them with you today because, well, we’re in this together until this weirdness is over and I don’t want you to suffer for no reason.
We got this bug spray when I was pregnant, because all we had was stuff with Deet in it. This one is natural, safe for kids, smells nice and best of all - comes in a multi-pack. I keep one in my car, one in our camp chair for softball games, and one in the house.
I’ve been wearing these tank tops religiously for the last two weeks. They are easy to layer with pretty much anything in my closet and make every outfit look put-together. I like to tuck them into denim shorts or jeans on a warmer day and it looks so much nicer than throwing on a t-shirt. The fabric is thick and smooth and the length is perfect on me, even with a longer torso.
I am telling you, if you don’t already have a summer quilt or duvet you love, this one is it. It is the perfect weight - heavy enough to feel cozy, but light enough that you don’t bake. We keep our bedroom pretty cool because I’m married to a furnace, but this keeps us both at a comfortable temperature.
Confession time: I’ve never really been into moisturizing. My face? Absolutely. My arms and legs and everything else? Not so much. I’ve noticed recently (now that I’m wearing shorts sometimes) that my legs are DRY. I started using this body butter all over when I get out of the shower and WOW. It’s all natural, smells amazing (and the scent lasts), and my skin is silky smooth. It just gives me a little something extra.
This one is made in Delaware by a local lady and comes in 3 scents: Sweet Almond (the one I have), Citrus and Tea Tree. I’m definitely trying them all.
I don’t self-tan often - usually when I’m going on vacation or have an event that I’m dressing up for. Or like, it’s super sunny after 2 1/2 weeks of rain. This one is super easy, stays on for days, and doesn’t stink. It’s a real winner.
She writes the funniest, sweetest, summery romances and you just have to read one.
Okay, I don’t own this yet, but HOW CUTE is this? It screams “easy”, and I love that the length is longer for cooler evenings. It’s in my cart and I will get it. Soon. I mean, it’s on sale. I think I have to have it.
“Look at the fig tree and all the trees, as soon as they sprout leaves you can see for yourselves and know that summer is already near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.”
Luke 21:29–31
