6 Favorite Fall Treats
It’s no secret I love to bake, and there’s no better time of year for baking than the fall. I’ve been doing a bit of baking lately, but am really working to plan opportunities to bake some of my favorite treats.
Today, I’m sharing some of my go-to baked treats for fall - and a few I can’t wait to try!
sweet.
apple cinnamon rolls with maple icing.
These are so good. Really top notch if you’re looking for an elevated breakfast treat. I made them for Elliot’s birthday a few weeks ago (we like to celebrate first thing in the morning - it’s a Gossman thing), and I’ve made them for family for Thanksgiving and Christmas morning. They are pretty simple, can be frozen or kept in the fridge before baking and turn out perfect every time. 10/10 would recommend.
This one is also a repeat, but only because I’ve been making them for years now and they’re still requested every time. I’ve made them for birthdays, for my team at work, and sometimes just to have some pumpkin goodness in the house. Very easy, very mindful, very fall.
I miss these. I didn’t make them last year, and I believe it was a mistake. These are the perfect dessert to bring to any gathering. Like brownies, they’re easy to whip up, but pack a punch of cozy fall flavor.
We all love a poke cake. They’re moist, sweet and easy to make. This one is no exception. It’s got a light, whipped cream frosting, and everyone loved it last year when I made it for Halloween. Even those who aren’t the biggest fans of whipped frosting raved about it.
savory.
This bread is the best. I love to make it to accompany a good soup, a football game, or family dinner. There isn’t anything it doesn’t pair with, and it’s the most beautiful bread you’ve ever seen. It’s a braided swirl of herbs and cheese and is lovely to behold. And eat.
I make beer bread probably every other week during the cold months, for one reason only - it is the fastest bread. And it’s delicious, that’s a bonus. I can have a fresh loaf ready to eat in less than an hour, and it goes with everything. It’s a warm and hearty bread and only 5 ingredients! It’s a must to have in your rotation, especially for those chilly days. I like to have beer bread and a hot bowl of soup or chili for Elliot when he comes in from shoveling snow or bringing in wood when it’s cold. It just warms the soul.
