May Highlights

May has been so busy, and yet, really fun.

The weather has been spectacular lately, and I will take as many evenings as I can get out on my deck before the bugs start eating me alive.

Here are the highlights!

new house.

As you are probably aware, we moved into a new house this month. The first few weeks were full of various home improvements before we moved in our furniture, and it was really cool to see the house come to life. In our spare time, we’ve been enjoying our time outside in our yard and on our deck. You can hear the birds and see the stars out here and it’s just beautiful.

my first mother’s day.

This year I got to celebrate my very first Mother’s Day. I told Will that all I wanted was for him to be on his very best behavior and not to throw up on me, and he delivered. He was SO good, in fact, that he wore his little sea turtle button-down all. day. long. Unheard of, I tell you. It was a lovely day with family. My sister and brother-in-law hosted us for lunch and we created our own bouquets to take home. Mine are still blooming.

anniversary date.

Originally, we planned to celebrate our anniversary with a weekend getaway to Shenandoah National Park. It was going to be Will’s first trip and I was very excited, but we decided that moving into a house two weeks earlier took precedence over a vacation (and it had free cancellation! WIN.). Instead, I took Elliot to the Melting Pot for the first time. I couldn’t believe my chef of a husband had never been. He LOVED it. I still think dessert is the best part.

will update.

I’ve decided that every month deserves a quick update on Will. This month, Will grew out of all of his 3 month clothes, and I had to completely pack away his things and pull out the next 3-6 months of clothes/sizes. While I’m so sad that he’s getting so big so quickly, I’m really excited for all the cute summer outfits. He has really started to use his hands to grab things and he has a new favorite toy - this super cool fish with “scales” that crinkle and have different textures. He has started with solids, and we’ve dabbled a bit with Miss Rachel. I’m not entirely sold on her, but I think she does a great job with building language skills.
