July Highlights

July has been so. stinkin. fun.
It has been the most classic month of summery things, and my heart is so full. I’ve even checked off a handful of things on my Summer Bucket List.
independence day.
For the first time in a while, we had virtually no plans for the Fourth of July. We took Will to see the fireworks, which were approximately three hours past his bedtime, but he was a real trooper and hung out with us for the entire show, and only cried a little bit. He was the cutest little patriot I’ve ever seen.
new kindle.
I did a little bit of shopping for prime day and I treated myself to a new kindle paperwhite. I realized mine was over 8 years old, and they had quite a deal when trading in an older kindle. My new one has a bigger screen, more features and it’s WATERPROOF. I am already obsessed with it.
birthday baking.
There are several birthdays in July that I bake for - my best friend’s one-year-old, my mother-in-law and my father. For the baby, I baked a watermelon-themed smash cake and matching cupcakes. My MIL requested a white cake with a white chocolate mousse filling, and my dad had the classic birthday cake - yellow cake with chocolate frosting. It was a lot of fun trying new things and enjoying some treats!
beach week.
We took our annual beach week trip - this year being Will’s first beach experience. We have had so much fun introducing him to all the water activities - floating in the pool, playing in his water table, and splashing in the waves. He has been such a trooper and has loved his time at the beach. It’s been so fun for me to experience this with him and show him what summer is all about.
