August Highlights
Spoiler Alert: My favorite thing about August is that it’s over and September is tomorrow and fall is COMING.
That said, it was actually a pretty decent month. I had quite a few little adventures and really enjoyed the heck out of the last bit of summer. Here are the highlights.
phillies games.
Early this month, I went to two Phillies games for work. One was our annual company night, and the other was a last minute work thing. My director is a sweetheart and gave me an extra ticket and I got to bring Elliot to a fun little work-date, complete with free tickets and a suite! The game was great (they won), there were multiple home runs, and one foul ball landed IN the suite. WHAT.
boat trip.
Will went on very first ride on Pap’s boat! He liked the boat, loved floating on the river and absolutely loathed wearing a life vest. Unfortunately for Will, Pap is a stickler for the rules and he was forced to comply with safety regulations. As you can see, he was less than thrilled.
peach festival.
This was the first year in a long time that I was able to attend the Middletown Peach Festival. Will broke in his big boy stroller seat and cruised around town, exploring the booths and festivities. My favorite local candle company, Kent County Candles, was there and I was able to stock up on some delightful fall scents. YESS.
fall decorating.
Last weekend, I pretty much blocked my calendar for all plans, so that I could dedicate time to unpacking all of my fall stuff and decorating my house with pumpkins. It was definitely different this year in the new house, but I have found homes for my favorite glass pumpkins where they’re safe from dogs and baby hands, and that’s really all that matters. As I type, I’ve got an apple candle burning, and my light-up pumpkins glowing. I am one happy girl.
lucky me.
I found the sweetest love song last week on Apple Music and it just makes me smile so big every time I listen to it, which is rather often. It’s called Lucky Me by Jake Miller and it’s just so lovely. Take a listen if you’re in the mood for a pretty little love song. The music video is below - it’s of the singer’s actual proposal. HOW CUTE IS THAT?
