August Highlights

Okay, let’s be honest, I was not excited about August one bit. I do not like it Sam I Am. I do not like green eggs and August.

I will say though, that it was surprisingly much better than I anticipated. There was some good stuff that came out of it, and I’m glad I had to time to spend on transitioning to the best season of the year!

Redecorating.

Like I said, I’m very excited about decorating for fall. So excited, in fact, that I pretty much redecorated half of my house in preparation for the fall decor. This redecorating included some rearranging and and perhaps some painting? Once everything is finished (Come on, HomeGoods!! Get your fall stuff IN), you all will be the first to see the transformation. I can’t wait to show you!

Cooler Weather.

We have had some lovely cooler weather this August, and quite honestly, I’m convinced it’s a ruse. I mean, I’ve been alive for almost 27 years (WHAT), and not once, have I ever enjoyed a cool September, much less August. September is almost always hot and humid, and it feels even more oppressive when you’re just trying to wear your cute new booties and light sweater and you’re DYING. Therefore, I am only accepting these few cooler days as weird, freak weather, and enjoying them as we come. At least I’m trying to.

Down To Earth.

I got the recommendation from a friend to watch Down To Earth on Netflix. I’m not really a documentary person, but this show is really cool. It’s about people and places in different parts of the world who are making a difference in sustainability and improving the environment and health. We’re halfway through the season (it’s only 6 episodes), but it’s inspired some new ways of thinking, and we’ve really enjoyed the new things we’re learning. Also, it’s hosted by Zac Efron, so there’s another reason to watch it.

First Year of Hope For The Hot Mess!

Next week marks a whole year of Hope for the Hot Mess. I am SO excited, proud and humbled by a full year of writing and creating, and actually having an audience for my content. A year ago, I wrote down the goal that by right now, I would have more than 5 people who read this blog. Currently, I have more than 30 subscribers, and even more readers than I could have imagined. Can’t wait for year 2!

To celebrate, I have a BIG announcement. I’ve been talking about branding/rebranding all summer long and have played around with too many logos to count (thank you all for your patience, I change my mind every 5 minutes and I’m sorry). Next week, I am launching my brand new website, with my final designs and branding!! AAHHH!! You guys have no idea how much time and work I’ve been putting into this, but I’m so proud of it. It’s similar to my current site, but with a bunch of fun upgrades that I’m personally stoked about. I hope you guys like it as much as I do.

See you all next week on the brand new site!! Yay, September!!!
